Bio of Roger M. Ingbretsen

Roger IngbretsenWith more than three decades of operational and leadership experience, Roger has developed a sharp eye for how organizations and their leaders can retool and become strategically focused. Roger is a retired USAF officer, serving on active duty for twenty-six years. He worked for high-tech companies for nineteen years before starting his leadership coaching and organizational consulting business.

Roger has continually demonstrated his versatile ability to lead and develop people as well as improve processes in a wide variety of different job settings. While in the Air Force he served on standardization/evaluation and inspector general teams and was associated with many aspects of heavy bomber and "U-2" reconnaissance operations. In his civilian work, he has held positions as a project manager, new product program manager, marketing and sales manager, corporate training and development manager, production manager, director of material, director of quality, director of executive development, and vice president of operations.

Roger has a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership, from Gonzaga University, a dual undergraduate degree in Economics & Business Administration, from Park University, an AA degree in Business, as well as 1,500 certified hours of training in technical disciplines. He's had over forty articles, numerous white papers and two books published, and created the "Leadership Development Coaching Experience."

Roger is a member of the International Coaching Federation. Additionally, he has completed many professional training programs attaining numerous certifications, a few of which include: The Harvard Law School "win-win" negotiation process, the Center for Creative Leadership "360-Degree Feedback" evaluation process and "Coach the Coach" program, the Zenger Miller "Team Training Certification Seminar" and "Executive Coaching" practices from the Professional School Of Psychology, California. He is also a qualified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality inventory.

Roger is considered to be very knowledgeable in the area of "workforce development." He is presently a member of the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council, served for six years as chair of the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce, "Workforce Education Development Council" and is the past chair for the Community Colleges of Spokane, "Workforce Advisory Committee." Roger is also the recent past chairman of the "Advisory Board" for Eastern Washington State University, College of Science, Mathematics and Technology, and past chairman of the "Board of Directors" for INTEC, the Inland Northwest Technical Education Center. He is currently conducting extensive research of recruiting and retention issues with a focus on generational problems.

Prior to starting his consulting business, Roger was Director of Executive Development at the Spokane based company, Itron Inc. "With Roger's help, Itron raised the bar and skills for all who occupy a leadership role at Itron" said LeRoy Nosbaum, Chairman and CEO. "His impact on the success of Itron has been positively felt and will be for years to come.
