Organizational Structure

The breakup of the centrally controlled mainframe computer into tens of millions of desktop units can serve as an excellent metaphor as to what is occurring within the structure of organizational life. The mainframe once only accessible to a select few has now been replaced by a desktop that both taps into the intelligence of all users and allows for immediate distribution and access of information to all stakeholders. We have entered the new millennium.
